As a nurse-owned-and-operated company, Pocket Nurse® understands the importance of carefully dealing with a new virus and the accompanying unknowns.
Pocket Nurse is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and helping our customers to do the same. As such, we are closely monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak according to the guidelines and recommendations of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). We want to share with you the actions we are taking to help protect our employees and customers.
The health and safety of employees is the primary concern. In that light, Pocket Nurse has suspended all international and domestic travel until further notice. This decision comes after, as an organization, Pocket Nurse evaluated potential risks. Additional guidance for travel and meetings will be determined and provided as the situation changes. Virtual meetings are still being scheduled, and employees will be working remotely as needed, responding to phone calls, emails, and social media messages.
Sales and customer service teams will be still be available to answer questions and prepare quotations via email at cs@pocketnurse.com. All orders will continue to be processed into the system. In an effort to promote social distancing, the shipping and distribution headquarters, located in Monaca, Pennsylvania, will be closed beginning on Monday, March 16, 2020.
Due to increased demand for PPE (personal protection equipment) products, we may be out of stock on select items. CEO and President Anthony Battaglia assures all customers we are working closely our manufacturers to add more stock whenever possible. However, due to demand it may be necessary for schools to postpone the instruction of PPE and related teaching. As a reminder: Pocket Nurse products are not for clinical use; they are for instructional use only.
The supply chain is being impacted and changing daily. Despite there being more visibility in supply chains than ever before, companies are still monitoring how destructive the coronavirus will be to their operations. Pocket Nurse is currently identifying specific supply risks and actively managing them. We will work to find solutions that will mitigate the impact of any coronavirus-related supply risks. Schools and universities closing and moving to virtual classrooms will reduce our need for product.
Again: we want to be absolutely clear that Pocket Nurse is in the business of selling products for education purposes only. All products are shipped to customers for learning purposes and not for actual human or animal use. However, we defer to the manufacturer indication for usage. Because we sell only educational products, we cannot promote the use of the products for actual human or animal use. However, if you choose to follow manufacturer usage indications, Pocket Nurse bears no assumption of risk and any consequences of that usage shall be directed only to the manufacturer.
We appreciate the trust that you place in Pocket Nurse. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and take actions necessary to help keep our employees safe while providing the products and services you need to teach.
Thank you for your patience while we work through this unknown, unprecedented, and quickly changing situation.
