1. SimPOW
Pocket Nurse® has been instrumental in the founding and success of the ever-growing Simulation Alliance of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia (SimPOW), which was started a year ago this month. Along with hosting SimPOW gatherings, Pocket Nurse sends a representative or three to each meeting, and often sponsors lunch. SimPOW’s most recent conference, held on August 4, 2018, welcomed over 25 healthcare simulation professionals from the tri-state area.
2. Pocket Nurse Scholarships
Pocket Nurse regularly joins with other companies and organizations to provide scholarships https://www.pocketnurse.com/default/scholarships/ that allow simulation professionals to attend educational events which are aimed at advancing simulation research and quality, while providing valuable networking opportunities for professionals.
3. Event Sponsorships and Trade Shows
The Pocket Nurse sales and marketing teams attend nearly 60 trade shows a year. At many of these, we sponsor events or otherwise support the trade show. For example, EMSEd™ by Pocket Nurse is involved in hands-on scenario competitions at NAEMSE and EMS World Expo. Sponsoring simulation- and education-focused conferences and trade shows allows us to meet our customers in person, stay apprised of current trends and topics, and help promote healthcare simulation conversations that are happening all over the world.
4. Cross-Discipline Product Offering
As simulation is crucial in all aspects of medical education, our products apply to a diverse range of fields and disciplines within the healthcare industry, including EMS education, pharmacy education, physical therapy education, nursing education, and more. Look for more information coming from Pocket Nurse about EMSEd, NurseEd™, PTEd™, and PharmEd™ product solutions.
5. Innovative Products
Over the years, Pocket Nurse CEO and President Anthony Battaglia has been instrumental in developing and branding Pocket Nurse’s proprietary products – like our Demo Dose® line of simulated medications and our Inject-Ed™ injection trainers. These products have helped advance and improve simulation education.
6. Ask-a-Nurse
Our Ask-a-Nurse program, which can be found on our website, provides a space where educators and simulation professionals can ask their simulation-related questions and have them answered by the in-house simulation and education nurse experts at Pocket Nurse. Ask-a-Nurse is a completely free program, designed to offer direction to our valued customers.
7. Educator-Informed Products
Another way to connect with Pocket Nurse online is to email suggestions and requests to ideas@pocketnurse.com. We take customer requests and ideas seriously, and customer requests have resulted in new products and innovations to existing products, like our SimLeggings® Moulage Kit and our Demo Dose® crushable tablets.
8. Product-trained staff
Thanks to the in-house nurse educator, employees are put through intensive product-training through Pocket Nurse University. This ensures that our representatives and team members are knowledgeable and familiar with both Pocket Nurse products and with the simulation industry as a whole.
9. SimTalk Blog
Pocket Nurse produces weekly simulation-focused content through videos and posts on the SimTalk Blog. Topics center on healthcare education and simulation across multiple disciplines, including nursing education, EMS education, and pharmacy education. Our goal is to provide a valuable resource for health educators. You can also find posts from Pocket Nurse at HealthySimulation.com.
